DATE         

The 2019 ICF Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships will be held from 9th to 16th September, 2019 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Competing crews are advised to arrive in Kyiv from 9th of September.

 

LOCATION        

The 2019 ICF Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships will be held in Kyiv, the capital and largest city of Ukraine, located in the north central part of the country. Racing will take place on the Water Stadium situated on the Dnipro River, Obolon Embankment, Kyiv. Protected from the wind on both sides.

It takes about 15 minutes from Obolon Embankment to the center of the city by car. 

 

BOATS AND EQUIPMENT

Competing crews will be provided with standard and small Peisheng ICF licensed dragon boats. But athletes will be expected to bring their own paddles. The paddle must fit in the respective ICF norm provided in the authoritative technical specification sheet of the paddle (ICF Dragon Boat Competition Rules). A limited number of ICF specificated paddles will be available from the Organizing Committee for hire or purchase.

 

CREW TRAINING

Official crew training sessions will be available on the Water Stadium from Monday, 9th September 2019 through to Thursday, 11th September 2019. Information about training sessions reservation will be available at the official website http://kyivdragon2019.org

 

PERSONAL SAFETY  

All crew members must be water confident and ideally be able to swim at least 50m. It is the Crew Manager’s responsibility to ensure that this limitation is complied with, and to ensure that known weak swimmers wear personal flotation aids.

Crews compete entirely at their own risk and must be‘Fit to  Race’, as defined in the ICF Racing Regulations.

AGE GROUP:

  • The first year an athlete can compete in an ICF or international competition is the year of their 15th birthday.
  • The last year an athlete can compete in the junior age group is the year of their 18th birthday.
  • An athlete can compete in a masters event in the year that they reach the lower limit of the age group. The masters’ age groups are defined by each discipline with a minimum age of 40 years.
  • The first year a drummer can compete is the year of their 15th birthday. The drummer can be different gender or age of the respective category.
  • The first year a steerer can compete is the year of their 18th birthday. The steerer can be different gender or age of the respective category.

REGISTRATION

Preliminary Entry Form is available at the website http://kyivdragon2019.org. The Form has to be sent by email to the Organizing Committee till May 1st 2019.

 

PAYMENT DETAILS

All crews have to pay a deposit of € 500.00 per crew along with their Preliminary Entry by May 1. The payments will be proved by the Organizing Committee upon request.

Accreditation fee

An Accreditation Fee is 75 EUR per person for Athlete, Coach and Staff Person.

An Accreditation Fee is 50 EUR per person for Junior (15-18).

An Accreditation Fee is 20 EUR per person for supporters.

The payments must be paid by bank remittance by August 15th 2019 or by cash in arriving day.

Each registered participant will be provided with an accreditation badge. An additional new badge will cost 20 EUR.

 

CATERING

The event caterer will offer lunch on the regatta course. Cuisine is European. However, if you have some food preferences, please inform the Organizing Committee in advance.

The price of a lunch €12 (Each meal includes starter, main course & dessert).

All catering requirements will need to be confirmed by 15th August 2019.

* The price for the 4 star hotels varies depending on the distance between the hotel to the competition venue.

**Shuttle buses from the official hotels to the competition venue will be provided for free. In case any team stays in a non-official hotel, transportation will be provided for additional fee.

 

OPENING CEREMONY

The Opening Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 11th September 2019 at the regatta course starting previously at 17.00hrs. Further details will be available in Information Bulletin No. 3.

 

PARTY

The Party will be held on the evening of Sunday, 16th September 2019 at the regatta course. Music will be provided. Further details will be available in Information Bulletin No. 3.

 

TRANSFER

Transfer from/to Airport (one way) – is not included in the price of accreditation. The cost of the transfer is 20 Euro per person with luggage.

The OC can also provide information about how to get to the hotels by public transport upon request.
